Home Remedies For Hotspots On Dogs

is apple cider vinegar as good for your dogs and cats as it is for you? that's what i'll be talking about today so stay tuned if you want to find out more! hi my name is donna vincent. i'm a

Home Remedies For Hotspots On Dogs, certified pet food nutrition specialist and i'm here to help you take care of your dogs and cats holistically and naturally. a little bit of apple cider vinegar in

your pets food or water can help your dog or cat maintain or restore the acid/alkaline balance of their body. this is important for a number of reasons. apple cider vinegar is an antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral. i like to use bragg's organic raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar. some of the reasons why maintaining that ph balance is so important

is because one.. fleas, flies, and parasites are less likely to bother your pets if their ph balance is where it should be. my dogs don't have problems with fleas. i will also mention that feeding your pet a quality food will also help maintain that ph balance. if your pet is prone to urinary tract infections, bladder infections, kidney infections -

their ph balance is most likely to alkaline or too acidic. you can test your pets' ph level by using the little ph strips. just run it under their urine stream in the morning, see what color it changes to and then check the color that matches on the container. the optimal reading is 6.1 to 6.5. under 6.0 is too acidic and over 7.0 becomes too alkaline.

this is where other problems come in such as stones/crystals. too alkaline you get struvite stone's and too acidic - calcium oxalate stones can form. you do also want to make sure you dilute the apple cider vinegar. you don't want to give it to your pet straight. serving size suggestion - small dogs 10 pounds or so and for your cat's 1/4 to 1/2 a

teaspoon once or twice a day. dogs in the 50 pound range 1 teaspoon up to 2 teaspoons once or twice a day depending on their needs. and if you have a dog that's in the 100 lb. area 1 or 2 tablespoons once or twice a day. again, always dilute the apple cider vinegar. i hope this has been helpful. please

share with others it may help them. i do want to mention if your pet is on a prescription you do always want to talk to your veterinarian to make sure that the apple cider vinegar will not negatively interact with your prescription that your pet may be on. and again, remember high quality premium food will also help maintain a proper ph for

your pet.
