of tapeworm that is inside of a flea, so youshould ask yourself whether your pet has evidence of a flea infestation. the other way is toeat a critter like a mouse or a rabbit. puppies and kittens are constantly infested with roundwormsat birth. so when you obtain your kitten it probably has roundworm and your veterinarianwill recommend a routine de-worming. another type of intestinal parasite that is very seriousis hookworm. these type of parasites are microscopic tiny smooth worms that you can't see withthe naked eye that can be seen under the microscope. they will actually attach inside the intestinesof the pet and suck their blood. the fourth type of parasite seems less common its calledwhip worms sometimes whip worms are not diagnosed because they are shed in the fecal samplevery intermittently . if your pet has symptoms

What Is Bloat In Dogs

it's time for...fan friday?but... not really! *music* *we're gone to the snow dogs**huskies howling* "aroooooo!" so, for those of you thatdon't follow us, over atyoutube.com/snowdogsvlogs you should be!

What Is Bloat In Dogs, currently, while you guysare watching this videowere actually camping with the dogs!were actually camping with...one (1), two (2), three (3), four (4), five (5)... six (6)... seven (7) dogs! if you wanna see a bunch of that adventure, you should check outyoutube.com/snowdogsvlogs

and also, go down in the videodescription below and check outall of our social media sites. hopefully will have enough internet tobe able to at least post photos,twitters... twitters? tweets, instagrams, snapchats, all of these fun things whilewere camping! so today, instead of doing atypical fan friday,i'm actually gonna answer questions that a lot of you had askedin the past.we've never actually done a full video on it. today were going to show you, what we keep in our doggiefirst aid kit. the reason i put together a newdoggie first aid kit. i thought i would share with you guyswhat we put in ourdoggie first aid kit. first thing we have!we go camping a lot,so this is extremely important.

this is called the'tick twister!'it have some instructions on the back. i actually got this at myvet's office and is use forremoving ticks from your pets if they get them.we hope...you can remove them from yourself too. we hope that we never get them.but, in case we dothis is one of the easiest and safest way to remove ticksfrom your pets. so, we have the 'tick twister!' next thing we have,we actually have an eye and eardropper. this can be used for a lotof different things, including like if you need to get a little bitof medicine onto a cut, like you can actually suck it up

from the eye dropper.you can use it for...using eye medicine, i have eye medicine as well.but, is always a good thingto have it, just in case you need it. you never know!you may need it! nail clippers!doggie nail clippers!these are good in case they crack a nail or break a nail.or if you just need to clip their nailswhile you are camping. always havedoggie nail clippers! tweezers! these are brand newand haven't even open em yet.you never know when, you are gonna need em. you might need em topull things out of theirfeet or pull burps out of their fur you can use tweezers to get, like little poking things out of them.

you never known, when you are gonna need themand yes! a lot of this stuff in thefirst aid kit, can also be usedfor people. hydrogen peroxide.now, before you even everuse something like this, talk to your vet and ask them, how to correctly use it. this can be used, if yourdog ingest somethingthat they shouldn't have. you can actually use peroxide,to make them vomit quickly.so... say you are at the campground and somebody leaves a 'hershey's'bar out, because you are eatingsmores and your dog decides to eat the rest of the 'hershey's' bar, which could considerably be a lot ofchocolate for one dog depending on their size. this, can help them to throw it back up.which means, it won't go through their body.

you always want to keep this aroundand keep handy, but again contact your vet before... before you go camping,so you know how to use itcorrectly. another good thing to have, that i don't actually have onmy box. i have it on my camper, is a copyof all your dogs health records, their vaccinations certificates, any current medications that theyare on when you go,whenever you go somewhere. make sure you know all those thingsand wherever you end upgoing to travel, if you are taking your kit traveling, have the local vet's phone numbersin your kit. those are other good things,i have over my camper. antiseptic spray! they cut themselvesor step on something?this just helps if

you can put it on likeminor cuts and scrapes.it's supposed to help.. to stop like it beingfrom aggravated and helplike cool it off. so... this is actually for dogs.i got this at 'meijer'. ear cleaning pads, because just never known, when somebody's gonna decide to dig like crazy and needsto have their ears clean out.you wanna make sure they don't have anything crazy stucked inon a dirt down.ear cleaning pads are always a good idea. allergy relief.again, another product, make sure you talk to your vet so, you know how to give thisto your dog properly, before you end up actually having to give it to your dog.but, this can be usedif your dog is stung by a bee,

or they have something, were they start swelling andhaving an allergic reaction, benadryl can actually helptake the swelling down. memphis and shelby, had both been stung by bees before and this is actually all weended up giving them.the other thing, this can be used for but, you don't always haveto use for if, you havea dog with high anxiety and you need to like, calm them down.sometimes, the benadryl will help calm them down.again, talk to your vetbefore giving this to your dogs. speaking of calming things,i actually keep calming chewsin my kit. again, because this stays in mycamper and i usually give theseto the dogs for their stress and anxiety

and i usually, give themto the dogs when we leave,if the car ride is gonna be really long like it's a six (6) hour car ride.i usually give it to em for the longercar rides. more actually in... at camp,i don't really give it to em that often. cause they usually do pretty good at campbut is just kind of distresses themfor the long ride. oakley is like,"i know what those are!" self adhering bandage wraps, because you never know, when you are gonna need it! instant cold packs, these arenice if one of your dogs gets hurt, falls, maybe has you know, a hurt paw or hurt shoulder,is good to have instant cold packs. is also good to have heat padsas well, just in case. we actuallyhave an electric blanket that we use.

rolled gauze. you know, they cancut themselves! if they cut themselvesyou are gonna need gauzes. you are gonna need the water proof tapeto hold the gauze on. you are hoping that these thingsnever happen, but they can. if you are a little further awayfrom the vet, you'll behappy you have some of this stuff. another good idea is,to have a splint.in my camper, we actually have a couple different piecesof wood, in case they breaka leg and you need to hold their legs straight.you can use the splint andyou can wrap the tape around so, that they're not try to move it.again, hopefullly somethingyou'll never need! cotton balls, cause if they cutthemselves, you might need it!

wound cream, if they get a minor wound, like a superficial wound, they just scrape something, this wound cream is kind of like, neosporin. kind of like tripleantibiotic ointment. actually, i have triple antibiotic ointmentas well, but wound cream isanother good thing to have. a thermometer, so you can checkyour dogs temperature, causeyou just never know when, you might need it. this is actually a solar thermometer,so i never have to worry aboutbatterys going dead, which is really nice.again, i haven't opened it!the other thing, you probably wanna have because with the thermometeryou do have to take the dogs temperaturerectally with this type of thermometer. have some 'vaseline petroleum jelly'in case you do have, to do that. we have some!is in our camper.

styptic powder.i don't actually know how you say it.styptic powder, stop bleeding powder. you can buy it pretty muchat any pet store.this is great if you cut their nails too close, you can put thison theirs and will stop the bleedinginmediately. don't use it on large cuts.again, talk to your vetso you can learn more how about how to use this correctly.don't use it on large cuts, but if they have a small cut that just won't stop bleeding.this will help coagulate the bloodand make it stop bleeding. mainly used on nails, whenthey cut the nails too close. 'opticlear'. this is basicallyeye wash for dogs.if they get something in their eye like they were to get dirtor something in their eyes, you can actually use this to flush

it out, or if they havelike a scratch in their eyes, they got dirt in their eye and got it out, but scratch their eye?this will help with theirritation on their eye. rounded tip scissors.see? rounded tip scissors. you can use them for like, cutting the bandages and stuff. or, if they have like sticky stuffstucked in the fur and you got to cuta chunk of their fur out, don't think it won't happen, cause sap is sticky and can getin dogs fur and cause nuts. this willl make it, so you cancut those out if you need to,without poking your dog. i told you!i have triple antibiotic ointment! we also keep a couple of wash clothsin here, just in case.you can use em for different things.

you can use em, if for some reasonif they get caught and you need to.you can wrap these around their legs as well. but, we keep em in their, just in casewe need them. a bag of small treats, very good thing to have,if your dog gets hurt they make it upset and agitatedand if you can positively reward themwith food, you maybe thankfully you have treats in yourfirst aid kit. we also have a little syringe, this is not a needle syringe. this is for administering medicineif we need to, or maybegetting water or something that we need to. can be used to cleaning out woundsif they have a wound and is dirty, you can actually fill this with a little bit of water and flushout the wound, if you need to.

now the rest of the stuff in this kitis something that you guys also askus about and this is the stuff we have for emergency bloat cases. the first thing i have, again talk to your vet before you use this. is called 'phazyme.'i talked to a lot of people whohave pets who had bloated and this has been a life saver formany of them. this relieves gas, so if your dogstarts to bloat, you can give your dog...again, talk to your vet. like for oakley's size, we would haveto give her two (2) and it wouldhelp break up the bubbles in their belly. if their stomach is already twisted, this isn't gonna do anything,if you do end up giving these to your dog, when you get to the vet,if your dog is bloating, make sure you tell your vet

that you gave these to your dog. the last thing is what you guys askthe most about in the past week or so.because of oakley and her bloating. this... has been drooled downby oakley, cause she thinksthere is food in the box! is our bloat kit.i'm gonna open it up and show youwhat's in it. cause dogs now thinks is food, cause is plastic.this is actually our bloat kit. we got it from this place,'para vet' and we bought thedeluxe bloat kit. it comes with a book thatactually gives you instructionson how to use everything in here. again, if you have a dog that'sprone to bloat or has bloated before, talk to your vet! they will explain to you,how to use this properly.this book will help as well.

the first thing it has, is a tube.if your dog is bloating, you have to get this tube down in their stomach, to get the gasand the air out of their stomach. to do that, you need a bite block.see how, this has a hole in it? that's because, if you try to putthis down your dog's throat, they are gonna bite on it and close it shot. so, what you do is put the bite block in.then, put the tube in and try to get itdown the dog's throat, which isn't easy, but can save yourdog's life, if you need it to. it also comes with an irrigation syringe.this, again so you can put medicine downin the tube, if you need to. it comes with doggie enzymesprobiotics. this is supposed, to helpbreak air bubbles inside the dog. it comes with bloat blaster, which is a lot like the facing pillsi showed you guys.

it is supposed to take largepockets of gas and breakthem down. so, that is what our bloat kitactually is. hopefuly will never ever, have to use it. but, we have seen it used before, when oakley bloated when we wereon 'drummond island.' that's exactly what the vet there used.he putted the bite block on oakley'smouth, put the tube down her throat. the vaseline, you put a little bit of vaselineor something on the end, tomake it slide a little bit easier, like lubrication. and he put it down in her throat.jamie held her front end along withthe vet. i held her back in and i lifted upand the air came out the tube,which... the last time, when that happened, that was last year.we believe that actually saved her life. if we weren't able to get the airout of her, she was over and hour (1)and fifteen (15) minutes to the emergency vet.

so... being able to know, how to use this in an emergency situation,if you are far away from an emergency vet, it really couldsave your dog's life. alright you guys!well, there you go.that is what we have in our personal first aid kitfor the dogs.again, i have other things in the camper as well, but that's the basic doggiefirst aid kit.you can buy pre-maded first aid kits, already made but,i kind of like to have my own, because i know what's in it and i know, what i boughtand i know, what we have. we hope you guys enjoyed this video. sorry is a bit differentfrom 'fan friday.' regular fan friday will returnnext week, so...

but i'll pull questions from last week's,actually, if you have a questionfor next week's fan friday leave it down in the commentsbelow using the hashtag#askgttsd (to memphis)you got a fly! is gone elsewhere!is not on you, i swear! and... hopefuly will be able to answerthem, next week.again, if you want to see the camping videos, youtube.com/snowdogsvlogs all our social sites are listed, down in the video description below. go follow us!maybe, we already posted somecool pictures of the dogs at the waterfalls and things like that, that you can go see. the 'spirithood' affiliate link isalso down in the video descriptionbelow.

Water Additive For Dog Breath

(huskies howling) "aroooooo!" alright, shi! everybody wants to knowhow we make your food, so i think it's about time we show em... (to shiloh) - ready to show em?

Water Additive For Dog Breath, alright, let's show em! first thing we need to dois preheat the oven to325f/160c... oops! anyway, you get the idea!

preheat the oven. now, you gotta get outour first ingredient. first ingredient is boneless, skinless chicken breast. put it in the roasting pan, then you got to put in the oven for about 45 minutes to an hour. absolutely, no seasonings.no additives. nothing is added to the chicken. (to shiloh) - you smell it already don't you? we have to cook it though.

i do want to remind you guys, though before i finished telling youhow to do this. this diet is specifically designed for shiloh. if you're interested in... if you have a dog that hassensitive stomach issuesand things like, the allergies? www.balanceit.comis actually where you can go anddesign a diet like this for your own dog. so you definitely don't want to do exactlywhat we're doing for your dogbecause it it may not work for your dog. this is designed specifically around shiloh's age, weight, allergies and breed actually. so remember that.you don't really want it because...shelby doesn't get this food. this is only shiloh's food.

one more thing. when i make thisi usually make ten pounds at a time, but since i only have one roaster i usually make this many and then,i got to put this many more in. so i actually have to do this twice. first batch of chickenis out of the oven. now, we're going to take it off this rack, move it to another rack, let it cool and... put the next batch of chicken, into the oven. (to shelby) - do you smell it?i'll bet that you can smell it! because shelby doesn't always getthe same special treatment,

i saved the chicken juicefrom the bottom of the pan, to mix on her dry food to make...make her think she's gettingsomething a little special. you look like you're waiting for something.are you waiting for something too? want a piece of chicken? oh! want a piece of chicken? now comes the loud part! once the chicken is cooked, i take it and i quarter, each of the breasts, because they're really big. and then what i'm going to do is,i'm going to take them andi'm going to use the food processor,

and i'm going to put them in the food processor, turn it on and it will spin aroundand be really loud. then, i dump it all in here.(laughter) so i have to take all thisand turn it into chicken dust... not really dust!like fine granules. then dump it into hereand then, we can move onto the next step. and now we have, chicken granules. the other nice thing aboutmaking it really fine like this, is when we mix it together in shiloh's foodinstead of having big chunks of chickenthat she can just pick out, she kind of has no choice, but to eat the chicken and the quinoa.

(to shelby) - right?(to shiloh) - right? i don't know why,you girls are in here?it smells like chicken in here! now, on to the next step... i need to take this chicken.i need to weight out to 99.2 grams, and then we put it in these little bags, and i roll them up and stick them in the freezer. so now we got to take the chicken, put in here and weight it out, put in the bag... ok! ready, set, go! there's all the chicken!i actually ended up with one month, plus two days of it. i just got to put it in the freezer and then...

i'll show you guys what i do when i take it out of the freezer for when i make shiloh's food. now i'm going to show you guys, what i do on a daily basis, when i actually make shiloh's food, now that all the prep work is done. first, gotta boil two cups of water. bring that to a boil. once the water is at a rolling boil,we're going to pour in 1 cup of quinoa. spells, q-u-i-n-o-a.you want to look it up,to find out what it is. it's a grain. it's actually consideredone of the super fruits.

that's interesting!my burner looks purple in here,in real life, is red. pour this into thetwo cups of boiling water and what i'm going to do is,bring it back to a boil. cover it, and then turn it down on mediumand cook it for 15 minutes. and yes, i realizedi said super fruits.i mean super foods! after 15 minutes, now it's done. now, what we do?part of the reason, that i freeze the chicken is... this is way too hot to feedto shiloh and she's kind of impatient. what i do is,i open this up,set it in the bottom of the bowl.

i pour this on top of it and let it cool. once it gets cool enough, then i'll add the additives to it. i'll show you guys how to do that. now it's time to mix inthe last few ingredientsinto shiloh's food. have to mix in, one (1) teaspoon of cod liver oil. a quarter (1/4) of a teaspoon of corn oil. just a quarter (1/4) of a teaspoon!a little tiny bit, for all this food! then... we add this supplement fromwww.balanceit.com

and for shiloh she gets one black scoopand eight white scoops and... here, i'll open it up and show you what it is. these are the scoop,so you guys have an idea when i say one black scoopand eight white scoops. the white scoops are little tiny scoopsand this is what the stuff looks like. is just powdered vitamin supplementthat i do have to mix intoher food to make sure she gets... so we add all this stuff together, and then it's ready for her to eat it. there you go, shi! now, she gets to munch on her food!

sometimes she'll eat the whole bowl.sometimes, she'll eat half of it. and actually what i'll do is, i'll end up putting it in the fridge, and i'll give the rest of it to her in the morning. really just depends on how she feels, whether or not she wants to eat it all. some of you have askedif she's gotten bored with it yet? she's still eating it,so i don't think she's gottenbored with it yet. so there is how,we have to take all that special time just to make special shoot... food? special food for special shi!

right shiloh?are you special? oh! you are special! yeah, and don't feel bad. shelby is special too! i usually, if i don't have chicken juice i'll sprinkle a little bit of the quinoainto shelby's food. today, i had leftover chicken piecesbecause i made more chicken,so i sprinkled that into her food. shelby doesn't get left out,she gets treated special too. shiloh just gets treated extra special.

Tick Medicine For Dogs

hi, my name is dr. jennifer mcdaniel, andi work for the veterinary cancer center in norwalk, connecticut. and today we're goingto be talking about natural remedies for flea and tick infestations. many pet parents areconcerned about using chemical applications to repel or treat flea and tick infestations.they may be concerned about having irritation to their skin or to their pet's skin. andso if you're one of those pet parents, unless

Tick Medicine For Dogs, you have a full-blown infestation of fleasor ticks, there are some natural remedies that you can use at home that may be beneficial.the first is just citrus. an orange or lemon squeezed onto your pet's hair will help repelfleas, and will also keep your pet smelling fresh. second, if we already have an infestationof fleas, plain old water can help decrease

the amount of fleas on them. if your pet'shair is wet, it is more difficult for the fleas to grab on to the hair shaft, and theywill often slide right off with water. water will help decrease the number of adult fleas, but we may need to do some other things to help get rid of the larva and the eggs. andthirdly, to help decrease the chance of your pet picking up fleas your the backyard, youcan use natural predators that will feed on the flea larva in the backyard. the most commonthing to use is called a nematode, which is

Tick Medicine For Dogs

a small worm that feeds on flea eggs. theseare easy to find at your local garden store. keep in mind that the type of nematode we'rerecommending is a beneficial nematode that feeds on flea eggs. it is not the same nematodethat causes heart disease in dogs and cats.

Symptoms Of Heartworm In Dogs

(music).as you can see, we are talking pets today. specifically, pet health. now you might say,"my dog looks fine. he's not sick. i don't see any fleas on him. so we're good." but, when it comes to certain health risk, out of sight is definitely not out of mind. infact, by the time you notice certain problems with your dog, it could be already too latehere to explain is veterinarian, rick marrinson

Symptoms Of Heartworm In Dogs, and, of course, he brought a beloved pooch.good morning. good morning. how are you?great, thank you. this is a special guest. this is otter.hi otter. she's about a year old, mixed-breed, rescuedog.

oh!and one of my three. one of your -- (laughter), you have two moreat home? i have two more at home.man's best friend. we have a four-pound toy poodle, ruby, and my girls adore her. butlet's get right to it, doctor. you know, there's a lot of invisible health risk that we don'tknow about that are, let's say doggie dangers. what are those?well, today we're specifically concentrating on parasites both internal and external. andyou're absolutely right. these are dangers that most pet parents are not necessarilyaware of. and what kind of threats do these insectshold?

so, we have several. heart worms would bea big one. huge.carried from dog to dog by mosquitoes. infect the dog and actually grow six to twelve inchlong worms inside the heart. wow. and what are some of the symptoms thatwe should be looking for? weightloss, coughing, trouble breathing, andup to and unfortunately including death. now, i'm always taking my ruby to the vet,and my girls help me whenever we get the card that says bring ruby. isn't that enough?well, it's a great start. okay.and certainly your veterinarian needs to be part of that process. but you can't let itstop there. there's all kinds of things you

need to be doing at home in order to protectyourself and your dogs from these unseen pests. alright, so walk me through it, what can wedo at home to protect our pets? alright, so what we're going to talk abouttoday is parasite prevention, and the key here is prevention. we don't want to be waitinguntil there are symptoms and problems involved. so, monthly medication that is administeredto prevent heart worms, intestinal parasites, and fleas.and is this for someone that, let's say, in florida it's very warm, as opposed to let'sin alaska. you know, is the climate a big difference?the challenges can be a little bit different geography-wise, but nobody is immune. so,every dog needs to be protected every single

month no matter where you live.so, it doesn't matter where you live. or what time of year.or what time of year because they tell you also seasons have a big part in terms of theirhealth. potentially, they can, but you know we'veseen this where even places where you wouldn't suspect there would be a problem in the wintermonths, there's still a risk. alright, so now we know that no matter what,365, every day all year long. and the good news is you don't have to doit everyday. you don't have to do it everyday. alright,so let's talk about this treatment. once every 30 days.awesome. what treatment is this?

so, what we're talking about today is sentinelspectrum. okay.this is a product that will cover six different parasites all in one monthly tablet.okay, and this is right here? that's what this is.so, you have difference ones for different pounds.yes. and so there's four different sizes. so based upon the weight range of your pet, then there is the product that you would give. heart worms, all the intestinal parasites:hook worms, round worms, whipworms, tape worms, and fleas.so, it really gives you a peace of mind. a very broad spectrum.and how do you administer it to the dog?

so, it's orally. it is a flavored chew. so,the dog will think it's a treat. oh.there is a key with this particular product. you want to make sure that you give it withfood because it helps the absorption of the medication. but it's very well tolerated,it's incredibly safe, and more importantly very effective.can we give otter one today? we timed this so otter is due for this rightnow. so, we're going to give it to her while we're on set today. so, it comes in a package.each box has six doses. okay.and each dose is individually wrapped. alright, i'll peel it off for you.okay. so, if you'll just take where that cut

is right here on this edge. there you go.peel that right apart. okay. oh, she already knows. she already knows.and she doesn't realize how good this is for her.ready? you ready? very good girl. oh, she's so good. now, again, she's chewingit with no problem. she's deciding.she's deciding. she's playing with it. you know, they have to kind of just know whatthey're having. she's enjoying it now. you mentioned with food, so it is kind of easierto hide it in there. not necessarily that you have to hide it,but part of the medication is absorbed along with other ingredients from their diets whenthere's fat in the food. and there it goes.

and she thinks she's having a treat and notrealizing how good this is for her. again, it covers what again?heart worms, hook worms, round worms, whipworms, tape worms, and fleas.in one pill? in one pill.so easy. and what makes this the most unique is theway it works against fleas. it is the only product on the market that is specificallydesigned to break the life cycle of the flea instead of kill the flea. and that's whatstops your household from having infestations. so, your dog goes out in the world, picksup two fleas, brings them home. two fleas are not going to turn into 2,000 fleas.and that i heard a friend of mine endure,

and it was a nightmare.it is a nightmare. for the entire family.that's right. and more important, to the dog.you want more? no, once a month.once a month. so a great way to keep them healthy.that's right. thank you so much. i do appreciate it, andi really appreciate your time. for information on sentinel, where do our viewers go?so, www.virbacpets.com, and for more information on parasites, go to petsandparasites.org.thank you so much. i appreciate your time.

Symptoms Of Heartworm In Dogs

you're welcome.thank you. thank you for coming this morning.

she's so sweet. and, of course, if you'd likemore information, you can head to our website, thebalancingact.com. we're also on facebookand twitter. (laughter). she likes me now.(music).

Signs Of Heartworm In Dogs

sometimes it's obvious when pets hurt, butother times they are really good at hiding their pain, unlike meg, who was ejected from disney world again. >> meg: they were all robots!!! [crying] >> voiceover: and now, the vet who makes drdolittle look like dr knownothing

Signs Of Heartworm In Dogs, >> voiceover: dr andy roark! people get really upset if they come in tosee me for an an annual examination for their pet and i have to tell them that their pet isin pain.

often they miss the subtle signs at home. let's make sure this doesn't happen to youand your pet. >> stephen: i take my pets to a witch doctorwhen they're in pain. >> meg: i thought you took your pets to andy. >> stephen: i do. here are the secret signs that pet ownersoften miss. if your dog or cat's hair coat is greasieror messier than usual, it may be because they've stopped grooming.we need to ask ourselves why. often, it's because they're experiencing pain,

either in their back or in their neck and it hurts them to groom so they're notdoing it. people tell me all the time that their doghas gotten grumpy in his old age. i guess he does things like bark at the squirrelsto stay out of his yard, or play checkers at the dog park, or watch fox news. no, no...it's the news. with real live foxes.they love it. seriously, sometimes older dogs and cats justdon't have the patience

that they used to. however, pets that arebecoming grumpy or aggressive often are uncomfortable. they cower, growl, snap because they either hurt or they are worriedabout being hurt. if you had a painful back and someone, whethera human or a dog, sat on you, you'd probably hurt as well. >> stephen: i sat on my hamster's back onetime. >> stephen: one time... shallow rapid breathing is one of the mainsigns of pain that i look for in patients. it can even progressall the way up to panting.

>> meg: i guess pet health inspired a lotof songs by r. kelly. most pet owners think that panting means theirpet is hot or tired. this isn't always true. i, however, am always hot. and usually tired. if your dog is panting or breathing quicklyat times that don't make sense, he could be in pain. rapid, shallow breathingis also a sign of pain in cats. however, if your cat is panting, grab himand go to the vet right now. panting in cats is bad news. if your dog used to jump up onto the bed andhas stopped,

or if he used to follow you up and down thestairs and doesn't do that anymore, that makes me suspiciousof arthritis or other possibly painful processes. >> stephen: i stopped walking up the stairsyears ago. >> meg: i really wish you would stop makingme carry you up the stairs. the same thing is true if your cat stops jumpingup on the counter tops, climbing the cat condo, or generally gettingaround like he used to. there are lots of reason that pets lick orchew spots on their bodies. one of the main ones is pain. if your pet is always licking one spot, especiallyif it's a joint or

an area that's been wounded, there's a goodchance that it hurts. pets that get up and down and circle and justcan't get comfortable and settle, may be hurting. i hear peoplesay all the time, "oh he's old and he doesn't sleep so wellanymore." often these pets are old and thin, and sothere's no a lot of padding on their bones, and it's uncomfortable forthem to lay around. if you have an old pet that just can't getcomfortable, we need to make sure he's got a bed that's soft, supportive, and full of padding. if he still can't get comfortable, we needto look a little deeper.

some pets just don't want to be picked up,and i get that. >> meg: i don't want to be picked up. >> stephen: well how do we get you to move? >> meg: use your words! if your pet used to be fine being picked up,and now he cowers, runs, cries, or bites when you reach for him,i'd make sure he's not in pain. older pets can have housetraining accidents.sometimes it's just a slip, but other times it's painful for them to getup and move around. also, i see pets with back pain that are strugglingto get into

the right posture to go. in dogs, this canlead to constipation. in cats, it can lead to spraying outside thelitter box. >> meg: what causes them to spread littereverywhere outside the box? aliens. [creepy scifi sound] thank you so much for watching. please, help me to help pets by sharing thisvideo with other pet lovers

Roundworms In Dogs

next we want to talk a little bit about wormsand puppies. when your puppy was first born it might have actually been born with someworms because the mother passes them in the placenta and in the milk, but it also couldpick up some worms afterwards, and so i wanted to go ahead and go over some of these differenttypes of worms. if you get roundworms, these are hookworms, these are whipworms, theseare some actually flea eggs that your puppy

Roundworms In Dogs, can get, we're going to talk about that aswell. and these are actually heartworms, and heartworms are another problem that we getwith dogs. that's transmitted by a mosquito and your puppy would not be born with that, but we're going to talk a little bit about products that we might want to use to keepyour dog from getting these worms. and again

roundworms are real common, that they canget passed from their mother. in southern california we don't have a real problem withroundworms after they become adults because they have to pass out of the dog and embryonatefor three or four days before they go onto another dog. and it's so dry in southern californiathat we don't have a big problem with those. we're seeing more and more problems with heartworm, however, and it's spreading all over the nation. and so it's one of those ones that you reallywant to prevent and to prevent it we have lots of different types of medications butit's an oral medication you're going to have to give your puppy every month. the one thatwe like is called sentinel, and sentinel is a really great product because it takes careof fleas, intestinal parasites, and also heartworm,

and so if you give to your puppy this oncea month, it'll prevent your dog from having all of these parasites. now this particularproduct doesn't do anything for ticks, and so you may have to do some other thing forticks if you're finding ticks in your neighborhood, or if you take your puppy out on a hike andyou come back with ticks. ticks are more common

Roundworms In Dogs

in the wintertime in this area because theyneed a little bit of moisture, and so if you're starting to pick up some ticks with your dog,you can use a topical product that we can recommend, or we have a really good tick collarthat might help your dog from having these attached to him.

Removing Ticks From Dogs

hi, i'm doc halligan. i'm here with borrisand i'm getting a lot of questions about ticks. spring and fall are the most common seasonsthat we see ticks. what they do, is they position themselves on shrubbery and when dogs, likeborris, walk by they just jump on board. the most common place is for ticks to attach themselvesare behind the dogs ears, you want to look on their tummy, and of course they can goanywhere. now don't panic if you see a tick

Removing Ticks From Dogs, on your dog. i'm going to show you how toremove a tick properly. you want to make sure you use gloves because ticks can transmit deadlydiseases to humans. ticks burrow under the skin, so get a pair of tweezers and pull outlike that. no twisting, just one quick movement. inspect the tic to make sure you got the head.once it's out put it in a jar full of alcohol

Removing Ticks From Dogs

and seal it. if you think it might be a tickthat can cause disease to your pet, take it into your vet. you never want to light a matchor lighter up against a tic, it doesn't work and it's very dangerous to your dog. you alsodon't want to use petroleum jelly to smoother it because that doesn't work.

Removing A Tick From A Dog

now we are going to discuss how to removea tick from your pet. the first thing to know about removing a tick from your pet is makesure that it is a tick. there are lots of lumps and bumps on our animals sometimes thatmay look like a tick and actually aren't so make sure that that is what that is. theyare little small insects with legs. they are generally going to be attached to the skinand be dark brown to black in color. ticks

Removing A Tick From A Dog, generally just attach at the head throughthe skin. they do have barbs on their heads and so they are actually quite difficult sometimesto just easily grab and remove and so you want to have some sort of instrument likea tweezer or if you've got good fingernails sometimes that helps. what you want to dois identify where that tick is and grasp at

Removing A Tick From A Dog

the head of that tick, not the body, and atthe head and then gently with firm type motion, remove it. make sure you're not grabbing theskin and make sure you get the entire head. if the head is left in the body it can causea little local infection and sometimes turn to abscesses.

Rachael Ray Dog Food Review

this is the world famous famous ghost pepper these are scorpions right? these are the carolina reapers yeah and they are the world famous number one hottestpepper on the planet

Rachael Ray Dog Food Review, we're going to flip a coin on this. are you sure? we're going to leave it up to fate okay.

heads definitely sticking to wings next time. what's going on everybody? for first wefeast i'm sean evans from jimmy's 43 in the east village and i'm joined by chiliklaus. yeah now this is the first time we've met buti already feel like we're friends. that's good to hear. for those of you who don't know chili klausis the michael jordan of hot chilis. if hot chilis had a mount rushmore it would be fourfaces of chili klaus. you're a legend

okay and one of my favorite videos that you everdid was one where you were a conductor of a symphony and you had everyone eat peppersbefore they started playing and that was the funniest video i've ever seen. i thought i would add a little extra to themusic. i think i succeeded with that. do you think the peppers helped the music? music is filled with passion. if you haveplayed the same tune again and again maybe they need a little extra some flavor

flavor yeah yeah exactly what about other people? because on our showwe've seen people cry, we've seen people have to get up and walk around, we've seenrapper - hard core rappers - just bow out like little babies and have to leave. whatabout you? what's the worse thing you've ever seen? i had a local mayor who visited me and wedid it twice because politicians they no what to do sitting in front of a camera. nevercry never do anything. just stick to your case. and the second time he went to yeah.he started puking. it was great fun. you know what i find as an interview technique.it doesn't seem like it would work but it

does. in our show every questions has it'sown wing and as we get further along the show the spicier the food gets the more in painthey are. they actually are more likely to give you more information than they otherwisewould because they're not thinking about it their guard rails. they're not thinkingabout the hands that they're supposed to play close to the vest and they end up justgiving me everything i want for free. do you find that to be the same exact thing? i've experienced exactly the same. i thinkall people have kind of shields in front of them because when they see a camera they smilethey do all this stuff. when they eat a pepper the shield falls down and you see the realperson behind the shield.

let me read some of these side effects. freakouts. crying. turning colors. a high similar to a narcotic that could last up to 30 minutes. okay, i've never tried that but i'm lookingforward to it. should i tell a little bit about what. let's talk yes, these are like ghost chilis. right, theseones? i should say these pepper and the point of all this. is season 2 of hot ones is comingat you and it's coming at your quick. this is like my off season training. when i getthose wings in front of me no one can stop me. because these three peppers are crazy.

chili klaus tell me. they're crazy, right? yeah they're crazy. they're all way way way way way hotter thanour hottest wing. and i've got to be honest with you i'm very very very scared rightnow. as far as i've been told this is the worldfamous ghost pepper also called bhut jolokia originally from india and they use it in indiato keep the elephants in the jungle. because they go out in the rice fields and playingaround and the farmers don't want that so they put this on the fence and the elephantcomes out and oh this is hot out here and runs into the jungle. no problems with elephantsin india because of this.

so this little thing scares enormous elephantsoff a farm land but the two idiots sitting over here might snack on it might eat a likea snack. animals are much cleaverer than we are. much more evolved. which one is this one?these are scorpions right? in trinidad where they originally cultivatedthey used. they don't eat them they're way too hot for the trinidad people oh nono no. they fry them and put them into painful ships underneath the ships so they don'thave problems with things growing underneath the boats. so these will yeah

they have very fast boats in trinidad becausethis chili pepper so this chili pepper will halt another biologiesgrowth. it'll yeah yeah it'll kill off an entire habitat? yeah, exactly that's what i'm saying.but they are very tasteful and have a very nice flavor. yeah, we'll see about that. we'll see. we'll see. and these last onethese are the carolina reapers? yeah and they are the world famous numberone the hottest pepper on the planet and am

i right? you have bought them from smokingit we bought these in pucker butt in fort millsouth carolina and the people who don't know that guy is like a mad scientist. yeah yeah yeah he's like a crazy guy you know him? yeah i don't know him. i know him but the legend of him? yeah yeah yeah. he's a a scientist in away and he grows these insanely hot peppers. and like most mad scientists he's not goingto make a more friendly version of the product,

he's going to make a monster version ofthe product. so here we have carolina reapers the hottest pepper in the world but probablythat version on steroids. like we have a monster version of the hottest pepper right here.do you feel pain? yes yes yes of course what do you do to deal with it? some people say it's all in your mind that's what i try to tell myself. doesn't work? no. no it doesn't. but that's becausei'm weak minded. but what about you?

i'm weak minded too but i've tried itso many times. so i know what i'm going through. but actually today it's more thana week since i've eaten that chili so i'm a bit rusty. alright so let's take these ghost chilisout so they're like the weakest of these chilis we have here. so we'll just havethese two. does anyone have a coin? heads we'll eat the scorpions, tails we'lleat the carolina reapers. k? heads. scorpions. thank god. i think that that was a pity. really?

alright than i'm defaulting to i'm goingoff the quarters. this is a tv show so we do it the big way. chris schonberger fromfirst we feast full discloser was like first for the love of god don't eat the carolinareapers because you might die. so these are the carolina reapers, hottest pepper in theworld. and probably even hotter than the hottest pepper because we bought them off of a madscientist. yeah we bought them off of a mad scientist.mm. smell them. they are very very tasteful. and i don't know this. oh my god. it's very very tasteful and it's fruity.try to smell it.

that makes me nervous. no no no no remember to chew it. because if you don't chew itvery well it will hurt in your stomach. yeah it's very important that you chew at leastten times in your mouth. okay. i'll remember that. before you swallow it. remember that. it'svery important. ready? yeah. cheers. very tasteful.

wow. yeah, you like it? great pepper is this? holy fuck? is that as hot as you'll go? woah. this is very hot. i think it's a littlemore hot than my scandinavian cousins. but it's very tasteful too. you can also feel it in your ears you know?

and my neck. sean what do you think about that? tough. as much pain as i've been in in a while. yeah. this is what we go through. stay tuned for season two. i've definitely sticking to wings, not peppers

it's going to split.. nice meeting you chili klaus it was nice meeting you, sean. whoa! say hello to sean. a living proof that it's very tough to runa youtube channel. i love you man. i love you too. wow wow.

woo everything is hotter in new york it is? hotter in new york that's what happens when you come to mycity chili klaus. alright so we have ten wings ten questions.it's not the olympics.

Petco Dog Food Brands, i thought i would share the dog haul videowith you guys. so, let’s start with toys! the first toy that i got for cookie is a humungastache mini. this one is for small dogs, and right on thefront it looks like a mustache

and in the back it’s a little ball,so that when the dog holds it in their mouth it looks like they have a mustache! just a side note, i found this gift at healthyspot and i’ll put links down below to where i found everything. this hasn’t been used yet, so i can showyou what it looks like when i use it! the second toy…. i couldn’t resist, these are so cute! i found these online, they’re by the companyhaute diggity dog! and they’re 2 plushy squeaky toys, and i knowi said i wouldn’t get a squeaky

toy for cookie, but, these were too cute! look, it says “starbarks frenchie roast”! so those were the toys that she got this week, nowlet’s talk travel! i love to travel with cookie, i bring herin the car to meetings, or when i run errands, sometimes i just bring herto the cafe when i have lunch. and, i’m always taking her on walks, so i’malways looking for really good travel stuff, and i’ve been meaning to get these for avery long time, i don’t know why it took me a year to get these. but, pop outtravel bowls. they are collapsible travel cups by popware for pets.

i found these in the store at healthy spot, and, i am so happy i got these. you guys, look at them, they’re flat soyou can put them in the car, or throw them in your purse, or even, they havethese little carabiners, so you can hook ‘em to your little dog leash.and when you’re on a walk, you can just pop out a little bowl, boop! and give your dog some water! speaking of going on walks, i got cookie anew harness, i’m gonna show you guys her old harness. not only has she kind ofoutgrown it, but, it isn’t the most breathable fabric, it kind of traps in moisture.

and this part that goes around her leg isnot in any way bad for her, but it’s not the most comfortable it kindof has a harsh edge. and i wanted something really soft, reallybreathable, so when i was at the store i looked for a harness that wouldbe a lot comfier. and i found this one! the brand is puppia, i love these harnesses,i think they are my favorite dog harnesses. they’re all breathable material, this is something i would want to wear every day, so i said if i would want to wear it, cookie would like it. looking good!

cookie’s jealous i’m wearing her outfit. the third travel item that i got is actually2 things. because, some dogs are great swimmers, butcookie… is not! she’s a french bulldog, and most frenchbulldogs are not great swimmers, some of them actually can’t swim at all.but cookie loves the water, and she can swim, i just want to feel safe when she’sin the water. so, i got her 2 life vests, the first lifejacket that i got is a little bit smaller, the floaties are all around the top. i like the life vests with the handle on thetop, because say you’re out

paddle boarding with your dog, you’re going, you’re going and the doggie wants to jump in and swim around. when it’stime to go you can just pick her up, put her back on the board. the second life vest that i got her is a littlemore heavy duty, it’s for when she wants to go swimming in openwater. this one has a lot more flotation in the frontto hold up her head, which is really important, and it has more foamall around. so that if there’s a lot of waves, it’s just keeping her afloat, she’s just getting the extra support sheneeds!

that’s it for travel stuff, now somethingkind of random. i got this, this is the one that i like touse. it’s called the comfy cone, for whenever your pet needs a cone. you know, the medical cone. usually when you go to the vet they give youa hard plastic cone to put around their neck. and i really likethis one, i came across it a few months ago, it’s more foamy, it’smore comfortable, and i noticed that cookie liked to sleep in it more. so this is just one of my favorite things. and if your dog is recovering or sleepingand you want it to have a little

less structure, to make it even comfier for them, what you can do is remove these bones right here. it’s just a plastic bone, and they’re right in between each of the foam, so you can remove a coupleto make it easier to sleep. maybe i’m an over protective dog mom, butanything that i give cookie i like to try myself. i like to make sure, doesthis feel good? yeah. to help cookie stay clean, i got her somenew shampoos, both of these are organic oatmeal shampoos. and they are fordogs with itchy or sensitive skin. the french bulldog breed usually has sensitiveskin, and cookie is no exception!

she does have sensitive skin, so wheneveri’m giving her a bath or we do a little, like, dog shower. where i sing this song: ðÿžµwelcome to the dog wash! the dog washyeah! welcome to the dog wash!ðÿžµ this one is just a shampoo and it comesin a cute little dog bone bottle. and you just take off the top. and it hasa little pump! one thing i really liked about this brandis it was made with no animal testing. the other one i got is called comfy dog, andit is a shampoo and conditioner and it really makes her fur smell good! i know it’s an oatmeal but it just smellsso good, it’s one of my favorites.

last but not least i got some treats for cookie.i was looking for some wholesome treats. these ones are by earthfamily and they are wild salmon wrapped around organic sweet potato! cookie loves sweet potatoes, they may be oneof her favorite treats. i made her like, little biscuits with thembefore and she loves them. so, i found this interesting, i also liked, i read the backand the ingredients are, salmon, organic sweet potato, brown rice flour, organic eggs and olive oil. alright, that is everything that i got forthis dog haul. let me know in the comments down below ifthere are any cool dog products

that i don’t know about that cookie mightlike!

Pepcid For Dogs

administering injections to your cat is prettyunusual for most normal medications. however, people who own diabetic cats may need to givethem insulin by injection. so, you can use the less is more method of restraint. so,want to just not make a big deal of it and let your cat get kind of comfortable and sitdown. and, let me show you the way the syringe is. this is a one/cc syringe with a very fineneedle on it. and, actually some insulin syringes

Pepcid For Dogs, are even smaller with even finer needles thanthat. so, that the amount of pain the cat feels is minimized. it's just like a littleprick under their skin. so, what you want to do when you administer a sub-q injectionis probably wrap your cat in a towel if you're going to use the hind end. just like that,so he can't bite you. and, then you're going

to take a little piece of skin at the flankarea. just in front of the hind leg, sort of just below the spine. pick a little pieceof that skin up and you can feel a little

hollow in there. and, then you take your needle.ace wants to help. and, you just insert that needle right under the skin there just likethat and then you draw back so that you would make sure that you didn't get any blood there.and, then just inject whatever material you have. the insulin or antibiotic in there.and, that's all there is to a sub-q injection.

let's talk about how to test your cat forheart worms before giving your cat a heart worm prevention. heartguard is a type of heartworm prevention that is given to cats once a month. there are some other ones that aretopical like advantage multi and revolution for cats. talk to your veterinary clinic firstas far as heart worm prevention is concerned. now, if a cat has heart worms there are acouple of ways to test for that. your veterinary

Oral Flea Medication For Dogs, clinic can help guide you through that. theybasically they're blood tests. there's an antibody and an antigen test, those are twoseparate. antibody types of test test for antibodies that the cat has produced if theyhave heart worms. and those antibodies are there to basically fight the heart worms, which they never can. now, antigen test actually

is looking for the worms themselves. whatit's doing essentially trying to pick up on substances produced by worms and thereforeit's a pretty specific test. if your cat is positive for, you check with your veterinaryclinic. they're going to help you guide you

through that process. there's no easy wayto treat a cat with heart worm versus a dog with heart worm. there are much more effectiveways to deal with that. but before starting a prevention product, talk to your clinicfirst. testing may be an appropriate way to find our if they're negative first beforegoing on to a prevention.

Natural Flea Remedy For Dogs

hi, i'm dr. aimee beger. i'm a veterinarian, and many people use at-home remedies to treat dogs with ear infections, or debris comingout of the dog's ear. one common method at home is to use apple cider vinegar. the remedyis typically made by one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in one cup of warm water, andto use that as a flush to kind of flush out any debris or objects in your dog's ear. here,we typically don't recommend that, because

a dog owner should know which human foodsare harmful to a dog’s health. here are the top 10 foods you should nevergive your dog. 1. chocolate chocolate, especially dark chocolate is oneof the most well-known foods that are bad for dogs. dark chocolate is worse than milkchocolate and white chocolate. chocolate is harmful because it changes theheart and nervous systems in dogs. besides chocolate, don’t give your dog drinks thathave caffeine, like tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. 2. onions onions have bad parts that can hurt the redblood cells and cause hemolytic anemia and

heinz bodies to form in the erythrocytes ofanimals like dogs and cats. all types of onions are bad for dogs, includingdehydrated, raw or cooked onions, or leftovers from the table that have cooked onions. 3. macadamia nuts macadamia nuts can alsobe really bad for dogs. sometimes, after a dog eats macadamia nuts, it can cause thebody temperature to rise, a faster heartbeat, weakness, and vomiting. in the worst cases,it can even cause paralysis in dogs. 4. grapes and raisins grapes and raisins are good for people, butthey are not good for dogs. grapes and raisins are bad for dogs becauseof the fungicides, herbicides, or pesticides

that dirty them. other ways they may be harmfulis because they have a lot of metal, vitamin d, and fungus or mold in them. 5. avocados avocado is another thing that should neverbe given to your dog. the compound persin, which can be found in avocados, upsets thestomach, and is very bad for dogs. persin is found in the avocado fruit, and its plantand leaves. also, the slippery pit can easily get stuckin your dog’s intestinal tract, and cause pain because of the blockage. your dog willneed surgery to fix this this problem. 6. apple cores
