hi i'm shaelee and i am the groomer at dogtopiaand today i am going to show you how to do nails.and here we have a nail that is clear so you can see the quik. the vein ends right thereand the goal is to take as much off as you can without making it bleed. the goal is tocut the nail without quiking it the more you cut the nail the more the vein will recedeback and the shorter you can cut the nail

How Long Should Dog's Nails Be, in the future.so when you cut the nail you want to take little by little on dark nails until you seea black dot. and still take a little more off.. see where see that little... that littledot that means you can no longer cut it with the clippers. and here is another view ofthe dot.

so depending on the dog and if the dog willtolerate it, a dremel is a really good way to shorten the nail without quiking and toround the nail. so i'll show you how to do this. and you justkeep grinding it down until you see the black dot once again. there is the dot right there.
