i'm miranda savioli with today's health news.at least one thousand dogs in illinois, wisconsin, ohio and indiana have contracted the h-3-n-2canine flu virus. vets suggest that dog owners limit their pets' contact with other dogsand have their dogs tested away from vet clinics where other dogs may be sick. the cornelluniversity college of veterinary medicine notes that boarding kennels, day care settingsand rescue shelters put dogs at greater risk.
Dog Flu Symptoms, the associated press says that this flu strainposes no threat to humans, but may pose a risk to cats. a canine vaccine for h3n8, anolder flu strain that also recently turned up, does exist, but it's unclear how wellcurrent vaccines will work against the this new h-3-n-2 strain.
