Dog Sitter Jacksonville Fl

[music] welcome to another episode of i know jax.you are actually watching episode 136, and no it is not a joke, it’s true. can youimagine? for 136 saturdays you’ve been sitting there on the sofa watching my ugly mug. unbelievable.for that, you deserve more than a gold star or useless diploma to hang on your wall. youdeserve a party. so that’s what we’re

Dog Sitter Jacksonville Fl, doing. we’re having a special i know jaxbig birthday party and christmas bash on december 11, that’s thursday next week. i’m goingto be talking more about that later on in the show. those of you who subscribe to thenewsletter, will get an invitation via email, the rest of you are going to have to go tothe website for the details.it’s been a

great week for me, i hope it has for you too.and i was so excited to see the jaguars win, i’ve been telling you, they have alwayshad it in them. things are going to turn around, and right now, the team looks really good.marcel had a chance to catch up with a few of the players this week. well, december is here and it's time to fightthe crowds, hurdle shopping carts and swipe the mag strip off that credit card. that'sright, you know what i'm talking about...christmas shopping. so where do your favorite jaguarsdo their shopping. you can get anything basically at the town center. i don’t do too muchshopping for myself, but my fiancee loves sephora. she gets a lot of her stuff in there.that’s the number one store she stays in.

usually if i’m shopping i’m at the towncenter. so many options, the apple store, express… the new nordstroms is over there.i usually go there. probably any shoe store. foot action. foot locker. stuff like that.finding stuff for my nieces and nephews. i probably go there to get some shoes for them. ahh..the st. john's town center. seems likeit's become the place to go for all things christmas. but it'll take more than long linesand traffic to keep the guys away...or will it? i like to indulge a little bit. get thatchristmas experience and get out to see different things i can get my family. a lot of thingsthey have online, but i don’t like waiting for them. i just like to go and get it, soi can have it and to give it to them. i end

up with the people. if i go to town centerit’ll be really early or really late when i think it’s died down. i'm going to let those guys have the crowdsand chaos. personally i like to do all of my shopping online and let my gifts come tome. it's just something about everything being just a click away...and i'm not the only one.to a certain extent. i don’t like to drive or deal with a lot of people. i don’t reallyget out to really find the deals. most of the stuff i do online. i pretty much knowwhat my nieces and nephews want, so it’s easy for me to get them shoes and stuff likethat. i’ll go online to the nike site so i don’t have to wait in line and deal withthe holiday traffic out there. i’ll probably

be, if i’m at any mall, if i’m not atany mall, i’ll be online. that's it for this week's i know jags. tunein next week to learn more about your favorite jaguars. they might get behind the eight ball.we’ll start off a little, we’ll start off good. but not as good as we potentiallycan be. we have chemistry now. we probably just sweep you guys four zero.[music] i’m hoping sunday’s game turns out justas awesome for the jaguars. maybe we can make it two in a row instead of just two. thisweek our christmas decorations are going up at home, for sure. i promised my wife, soi have to. when you don’t have kids at home, and you work a lot, things like that sortof ends up on the back burner. it’s usually

the same with my christmas shopping, but thisyear, things are going to be different, because i’ve already picked out some great localgifts for the people in my family. how about you? next, i’m going to introduce you toanother local jacksonville business with a great program, and who has some great holidaygift ideas too. here at i know jax, we don’t just focuson fun, we also focus on local. and since it is gift giving season, i’ve started anew series here on the show. every week i present a new local business who has somethat could be great as a christmas gift for those of you who are looking for cool, uniquelocal product. i’m with scott from twinn bridges, and we’regoing to talk about twinn bridges farm. twinn

bridges is an herb farm, primarily. we doherb plants and fresh cut herbs primarily for restaurants. we also do vegetable starts.we grow a variety of vegetables for markets that we do. i want to talk a little bit aboutthe elephant in the room, which is all these great herb plants. we’re wanting to talka little bit about shopping local and what might be some good gifts. when i talked toyou, you said i’m going to bring some plants. i wish you guys could smell this. maybe youcould get it as scratch-o-vision or something. it smells incredible. talk to us about whatyou got here. what’s better than a living gift? it gives all year, right. basil, youcan get pesto dishes off it. plant it as close to the kitchen, that’s where you’re goingto use it more. what do you got here? you

got basil, rosemary… this is a lemon thyme,it has a variegated leaf on it. he used a big word, variegated. i don’t know whatthat means. it’s multicolored. it’s got a little bit of white and green. why didn’tyou just say multicolored? variegated is what it’s called. that’s a five dollar word.it’s professional. ok, we’ll say that. then you got spearmint up front. that’sgood for your mojitos. your mint juleps. i got one of these, i got a chocolate mint iuse in my mojitos as well. that’s good. that one is in the peppermint family. thisone is a spearmint family. it’s a little stronger would you say? actually spearmintis sweeter. what do we have here? this one is sage. really nice, strong, earthy, pungentherb that goes well with chicken and spagetti

sauces things like that. stuffing for theholidays. oh yeah! or we can just rub it and smell it. puts out a really nice pretty floweronce a year. what you do is you take these nice big leaves like this, make a slit inthe skin of the chicken. slip them up underneath, five or six spots. roast it whole. awesome.it does good that way. one of our chef friends taught us to flash fry them. they come outas chips in a matter of seconds. really? interesting. use grape seed oil to get it nice and hot.one of the things i like to do with the rosemary is to cut off a couple of sprigs roll it upin aluminum foil with potatoes. yes, love it with potatoes. or on the grill. sprinkleit on top of new potatoes. basil really doesn’t dry well. you just need to pick it. it’san herb you want to pick regularly to make

it look pretty like these guys. always goright for the top. one of the biggest things people do is to say i only need one leaf.what do you do, you go down and pick one leaf off the side. bad. the plant hates that, it’sgoing to go downhill. what you do is to go right to the top. if you look underneath thereare a couple more tops. as long as you have a couple more tops coming below the top, youcan pick that top. for every top you pick, you get two more. a twofer, i like that. exactly.i really appreciate you guys coming out talking to us. nothing to it. we appreciate what youdo with the show highlighting local businesses in jacksonville. you know, i watch it everyweek. i’m so sorry. [laughing] i think a couple of different herb plants from twinnbridges would be a great idea for a christmas

gift. it’s a gift that keeps giving allyear. . you can visit twinn bridges at the beaches farmers market in jax beach on saturdaysfrom 2 - 5 pm. and they are also at the market at winston family ymca in ponte vedra on wednesdaysfrom 10 am - 2 pm. find out more about twinn bridges online at www.twinnbridges.com next week i’ll introduce more local businesseswith more cool products for you. now, i also wanted to remind you about our giveaway. myfriend isaac morales, retired from the jacksonville sharks, has opened a gym of his own. thisis what he’s giving away. win a one month membership, one nutritional counseling sessions, two personal training sessions and one dry fit tshirt. go to iknowjax.com/giveaway forto sign up now.

the cubes. that was your idea, right? it wasmarcus lemonis idea. but i love it! i wouldn’t dare take credit for it. i was watching petepull taffey upstairs. it looks like he’s going to be very tired at the end of the daywith as many tours as you guys have coming through. is that a standard thing? yes, we’rehaving a lot. we actually have three candy makers on staff that can make the hard candylollipops. that’s going to give him a little rest. he doesn’t need to go to the gym theway he’s pulling that stuff. no, he’s so buff. i can’t wait for the dessert barto open. that’s where i’m going to hang out.[music] i’m with liz and ellen from candy apple cafe trying to find out what is candyapple cafe? it’s kind of the brain child

of liz and jennifer earnest from chef’sgarden. we’re partnering with sweet pete’s to create a restaurant. our signature is goingto be a candy apple. that’s our signature dessert. we’re going to be open 10 to 8every day, starting with brunch that’s served all day long. then lunch and light fare fordinner and shared plates. talk to me about the signature drinks. we’re going to doa golden apple martini. we’re going to do a gin-based, let me think of the name… factorywater. playing off the fact that it’s a candy factory here. we have one called hoganshero, which is cute, we’re on hogan street. that’s bourbon based. we have one calledthe seminole club to give homage to the building. i already love it! food, cocktails, candy, sweet.
