Merrick Dog Food Recall

♪ [music] ♪- it's hard for pet parents to figure out how much food should i feed my pet? sothere, i really encourage, if you have any questions, to talk to your veterinarian.but one thing i wanted to point out is that the range can be so different.one food, such as this one here, is only 230 calories a cupcompared to this other one that's a

Merrick Dog Food Recall, little over 400, closer to 450 calories acup. so what a normal consumer will do when they're trying out a new brand at thestore, they will feed the same amount. not realizing that a cup is not a cup, is nota cup, as far as caloric intake. many pet parents just want to feed something thatlooks like a dog cookie or shaped like a

bone. and so, there are very small numberof products that are formulated to be complete and balanced and still come likea cookie. i recommend that we look for some of those products that are labeled tobe formulated and complete and balanced. and then they don't upset the nutritionalbalance. you can use them, essentially, as a food substitute and they can just bepart of the regular diet. luckily, the regulations have just recently changed.and now, calorie content will be required on the label, but the implementation ofthose regulations is moving slowly and the companies have until 2016 or 2017 beforeit's fully implemented and all packages must have calorie content. valerie here is13 years old and we know that keeping them

healthy, lean, and fit is the best thingthat we can do for lifelong health. ♪ [music] ♪
