How To Remove Tartar From Dog's Teeth

hi this is elise mcmahon for expert village.comand in this video series we are talking about canine dental care. if you would like to findout more about my services, you can visit my website at www.canineheadstart.com. soin this short clip we are going to be talking about tartar. what it is and how to find iton your dog. you probably know it from going to the dentist yourself humans get tartarbuildup on their teeth and we go to the dentist once every six months and get it all cleanedoff. well dogs don’t go to the dentist once every six months. some of them don’t goat all. some of them don’t need to go. but how will you know if your dog needs to goand get his teeth cleaned? we have already gone through how to teach your dog how toget a dental exam and we’ve done a dental

exam. so now we are going to show you whattartar looks like on the teeth, how to identify and where you are usually going to be findingit. i am going to use this little girl here. take a look at her canines; usually the firstplace to look. you can see here is a nice white tooth and as we get up towards the gumyou can see discoloration. you can also see along the gum line that it is a little bitdark. if you look at one of the incisors here you don’t see any tartar we also see a littlebit of darkness on the gum line. this is tartar and that needs to come off. let’s look ather front teeth. very nice. and the other side again on a canine right here we are seeingsome tartar buildup. not so much on the lower ones but on the upper ones. so that is somethingthat needs some attention.
